Why ACCURACY Matters... NOT RESOLUTION!
ACCURACY vs. RESOLUTION: Be very cautious when evaluating lasers, most of our competitors will focus on, and quote, "Resolution". Resolution is much like sensitivity, it is the smallest possible change of a parameter that can be detected.
Accuracy, on the other hand, is a deviation between the measured and the "true" value. In other words, the accuracy can be described as a maximum operating error that is intrinsic or can be expected under all conditions.
The accuracy and the resolution are not the same, though they can be measured in the same units. For example, a laser gauge can have a resolution of 1 um, while the accuracy of the results can, and usually are, typically be 3 - 10 times worse.
If you produce rubber, steel, foam, paper, lumber, foil, film, cardboard, or most any opaque product, the AcuSpec gauges are the best tools you can have to save you money and improve quality.
